To enhance the curriculum vitae of graduates for an effortless work-placement and to give them those digital skills useful to reach their potential, using at their best the digital devices provided, FISD offers a comprehensive curriculum that addresses a broad range of professionals in city regeneration concerns. Designed by experts, these courses will deepen students knowledge and facilitate your implementation of professional digital applications.

Video editing is the process of editing segments of motion video footage, special effects and sound recordings in the  post-production process. In several ways, video editing simulates motion picture film editing, in theory and the use of linear video editing and Non-linear editing system (NLE). The goals of editing is to manipulate these events for better or for worse communication. It is a visual art.

Modern non-linear editing systems use video digitally captured onto a hard drive from an analog or digital video source. Content is ingested and recorded natively in the appropriate codec which will be used by software such as Apple’s Final Cut Pro (FCP), to manipulate the captured footage. High definition video is becoming more popular and can be readily edited using the same software along with related motion graphics programs. Clips are arranged on a timeline, music tracks and titles are added, effects can be created, and the finished program is "rendered" into a finished video. The video may then be distributed in a variety of ways including DVD, Web streaming, Quicktime Movies, iPod/iPad, CD-ROM.

Video editing is a studio-based unit that aims to develop in the participants the necessary skills in nonlinear video editing and/or manipulate videos, to present city regeneration initiatives. Applications as Final Cut Pro, takes students step-by-step through video editing, media organisation, publishing, and performance with consistent color and quality. Projects of this FU are usually linked with the field-trips and/or the study tour thus offering interested students the opportunity to exercise their filmmaking skills in practice and on built environment.

During the FUs of Image Editing and Video Editing, students who will require support to the Liaison secretariat, will be assisted in attending to an Apple Certification test in an Apple Authorised Training Centre such us iMED. The cost for the test to get the Apple Final Cut Pro Certification is not included in the Participation costs.
